About Me:

I am living in beautiful Burbank, Washington (just outside Pasco). I spoil my dogs with the best foods and homemade treats, and, of course, plenty of love and play. I presently have four dogs (three dams and one sire). I am truly happy with my choice of dog breed. I encourage you to come and visit me and meet your puppy (and the parents) in person.

About Cresteds:

The true story of the Chinese Cresteds’ origins has been virtually lost to history. There is archeological evidence establishing the existence of hairless dogs some time between 2000 and 1000 BC. The Vatican owns several original paintings from the Roman Empire depicting hairless dogs complete with a crest, plumed tail, and socks. It is believed that the Chinese Crested originates from the African Hairless. These African dogs were traded to and prized by Chinese Boatmen. These dogs first made it to China during the Han Dynasty around 200 BC. The Chinese most likely bread the dog down to "toy" size (the current height standard is ideally 11-13"). Hairless dogs were used to rid boats of disease carrying rats. During the Black Death the value of a dog virtually immune to fleas and ticks became recognized.

Famous burlesque performer, Gypsy Rose, allegedly had 17 Chinese Crested Hairless dogs, all similar in color, size and furnishings. She exported her dogs to England and other countries helping to establish the foundation of the breed.

The Chinese Crested dog was first allowed to be shown in competition from 1955-1965 in the Miscellaneous Class. In 1965 the AKC made the breed ineligible because entries were too low. On June 12, 1990 the AKC again recognized the Chinese Crested dog and adopted a new standard. The Standard applies to both Hairless and Coated (or Powerderpuff).

Why a Chinese Crested?

This rarer breed of dog is growing in popularity and for good reasons. Both Hairless and Powderpuff dogs are adorable. The temperament of the breed is ideal for families with children. Both types of dogs are suitable for most allergy sufferers. These dogs are expressive, tender, playful, funny, and make great pets.

Chose your Breeder Carefully.

I know first hand the importance of picking the right breeder.  If a breeder has too many dogs, they will most likely come with both health and emotional problems. I love animals. All my puppies will be socialized, pre-spoiled, and hungry for affection. I want my dogs to go to good people and families. This breed of dog is highly sensitive and should not be spanked. I want my animals to become cherished pets. To encourage this, I charge half the priced for partially papered animals.
